VIDEO: AZZ to build gas insulated transmission line for Chinese nuclear plant

AZZ Inc., a provider of electrical equipment and services, won a contract from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. (CNPEC) to provide two circuits of 550 kV 2000A gas insulated line (GIL) for the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant located in Liaoning Province of China.

Under the terms of the contract, AZZ will provide 550 kV 2000A GIL for the CNPEC Hongyanhe Unit II project. The total contract award is estimated to be valued at greater than $9 million and delivery of the GIL is scheduled for mid 2017.

CNPEC is a unit of the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group. Based in Shenzhen, China, CNPEC is primarily focused on the construction of nuclear power projects with a total installed capacity of over 17.54 million kW.
