Mitsubishi to form new distributed power business unit

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) will establish a new Distributed Power Business Development Department within its Energy & Environment business.

The new department will oversee business related to small- and medium-sized power systems and equipment.

The division will also integrate the company’s distributed power business operations that currently straddle two units: Energy & Environment and Machinery, Equipment & Infrastructure. The company hopes the new unit will help MHI shift its business model from individual product sales of distributed power systems to marketing and provision of solution packages.
