NYISO names new vice president of market operations

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) named Emilie Nelson as its new vice president of market operations.

As vice president of market operations, Nelson will be responsible for the NYISO’s installed capacity market operations, demand response operations and operations performance and analysis departments.  

Nelson, who has worked in the electric power industry for 15 years, was promoted to the new position from her role as NYISO’s director of operations. During her tenure with the NYISO, she has held various roles in market monitoring, energy market design, and the operation of wholesale electricity markets. Prior to joining the NYISO in 2004, she worked in the power generation field for Mirant New York, as a power plant performance engineer.
