GridSense and Landis+Gyr unveiled the GridSense LineIQ and TransformerIQ monitors equipped with Gridstream platform communication.

The Gridstream solution offers a two-way network platform that forms the backbone for grid management solutions ranging from advanced meters to intelligent switches, reclosers, capacitor banks and RTUs.

By incorporating the Gridstream network communication into GridSense monitors such as the TransformerIQ and LineIQ solutions, utilities are able to expand their distribution automation capabilities to full-featured overhead line and transformer monitoring within an intelligent communications platform.

The GridSense LineIQ solution provides intelligent overhead line monitoring, while TransformerIQ monitors all failure modes in transformers from the poletop to the substation.

Utilities across the country are striving to maintain reliable, high-quality power distribution. For instance, American Electric Power (AEP) recently chose this solution to reliably monitor end-of-line voltage in their Public Service Co. of Oklahoma Project. The GridSense TransformerIQ equipped with the Landis+Gyr Gridstream radio provides an easily deployable monitoring solution.
