Transformation is the rallying cry for most utilities with intelligent grid initiatives, but according to industry analysts, only two smart grid technologies earn the distinction of being called “transformational.” Those technologies are Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and “big data management”  - technology capable of handling datasets so massive that traditional approaches to data processing simply won’t work.
This webinar will discuss the opportunity posed by the big data challenge and the ways in which information technology solutions (data management, integration, analytics, and visualization) can be applied to create an enterprise approach aimed at true business transformation, innovation and productivity.

The agenda will include an overview and demonstration of Accenture’s smart grid software enablement platform called the Intelligent Network Integration Platform - or INDE.  INDE utilizes modern, big data technology to help utilities resolve the traditional information silos in IT/OT systems that can inhibit improved business processes and business value, providing utilities a “running start” to their integration and data management project that can reduce risk and effort.

How will attendees benefit from this webinar?
Through presentations, demonstrations, and research findings, attendees will learn about new methods to meet their smart grid data challenges. These include:

  • The opportunity that big data presents for utilities today
  • Integration and data management lessons from global smart meter implementations
  • Accenture Software research into big data and why utilities need a “different” solution
  • Demonstrations of practical big data usage scenarios
