Integrated Electrical Services to build wind farm substation, transmission

Houston, September 1, 2010 — Integrated Electrical Services won a contract from Mortenson Construction to provide electrical services at the Lakefield Wind Farm in southwestern Minnesota.

IES is a national provider of electrical and communications systems and services for the commercial, industrial and residential markets.

When complete, the Lakefield Wind Farm will consist of 137 GE 1.5 MW turbines producing 205.5 MW of installed capacity.

IES will be responsible for the construction of the 200 MVA 345kV/34.5kV interconnect Substation and Transmission line for the project. The facility is expected to provide power for about seven percent of utility sales for Indianapolis Power & Light.

"We are excited to work on this important regional project," said Michael Caliel, president and chief executive officer of IES. "Renewable resources represent an important step forward for the new energy economy, and sustainable power is a natural extension to our extensive experience serving the energy and power sectors."
