Wireless Data and PBX Extension System

Carlson Wireless Technologies' newly expanded Trailblazer Star Wireless Multipoint Data and PBX Extension System is designed to meet the requirements of the utility and energy sectors. The Trailblazer Star's flexible, integrated MUX technology now incorporates both Carrier Class Voice service and SCADA capabilities into one rugged, easy-to-install enclosure.
Used extensively as a wireless PBX extension solution for voice (POTs), the TB-Star now has new interface options including 4-wire (E&M), serial ports (RS232, RS485, RS422), public address, intercoms, emergency phones (Femco/Guardian) and Ethernet (VoIP/Data). Available in a variety of licensed and license-exempt frequencies such as 2.3 - 2.5, 5.x and 4.9 GHz, the Star will also be available in licensed 900 MHz band by Q3 2010.
This versatile wireless platform is built from industrial and utility grade hardware with NEMA 4x enclosures. Class 1, Division 2 NFPA certification is currently pending (Q3 2010). Carlson's TrueTDM transmission structure means that TB-Star is transparent to all existing PBX, TDM or VoIP systems, is able to provide Carrier Class telecom service beyond 50 miles and has an ultra-low fixed latency of less than 4 milliseconds. These features, combined with the security of Carlson's proprietary enhanced encryption technology, are requirements for critical energy infrastructure such as utility substations as well as oil and gas facilities.

New Polyethylene Insulators

Hendrix Molded Products, a provider of high-quality overhead and underground power distribution products, announces its new HPI Polyethylene Insulators—the HPI-55-3, HPI-55-4 and the HPI-55-5. Made from Hendrix "proprietary" high-density polyethylene blend, the new insulators are vandal proof and are resistant to cracks, chips and breakage.
The new polyethylene insulators are backed by over 40 years of field experience and are designed to meet your system's needs. The lightweight design allows for easier handling and storage. Additionally, Hendrix Polyethylene Insulators are suited for safety standards to prevent glove or lineman cuts.
Suited for both bare wire and covered conductors, Hendrix HPI Polyethylene Insulators offer an alternative solution to porcelain insulators, which are susceptible to vandalism and can be problematic when paired with covered overhead conductors. Impervious to impact damage and breakage, HPI Polyethylene Insulators offer longer leakage distance and higher impulse strength. Additionally, every HPI Polyethylene Insulator easily withstands ultraviolet rays and offers greater track resistance due to the proprietary high-density polyethylene material.
