Zurich, March 23, 2011 — Engineering group ABB has clinched a $900 million from India's Power Grid Corp. to deliver an ultrahigh-voltage transmission system.
The ABB transmission link would supply hydropower-generated electricity from northeastern India to the city of Agra, covering a distance of about 1,073 miles.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, an Indian government-owned power company will deliver the remainder of the North-East Agra transmission project, which is worth more than $1.1 billion.
