Wisconsin Energy, WICOR to merge:

Wisconsin Energy Corp. and Wicor Inc. agreed to merge in a transaction with an equity value of about $1.3 billion plus the assumption of about $230 million of WICOR debt. The combined company, Wisconsin Energy Corp., will have a market capitalization of about $7.3 billion. The transaction is expected to be completed by spring 2000.
