Shell and Siemens Westinghouse sign fuel cell agreement


Shell Hydrogen and Siemens Westinghouse will jointly develop and market an advanced type of solid-oxide fuel cell (SOFC) using natural gas as fuel. Using an SOFC developed by Siemens Westinghouse in cooperation with the Department of Energy, and carbon dioxide sequestration (removal) technology being developed by Shell, only water and pure CO2 will be produced as byproducts.
