Ameren to transfer fossil plants:
AmerenCIPS, subsidiary of Ameren Corp., filed with the Illinois Commerce Commission a notice that it intends to transfer AmerenCIPS` Illinois generating facilities to a new unregulated subsidiary of Ameren. Ameren is a holding company and is the parent of AmerenCIPS and AmerenUE. The company`s assets would include five AmerenCIPS power plants and eight planned new combustion turbines-together representing almost 3,800 MW of net generating capacity. The new subsidiary is expected to be operational in 2000.
