ComEd and California`s Automated Power Exchange (APX) recently teamed up to open an electricity exchange in Illinois, which they hope to have up and running later this year.
Independently owned and managed by APX, the Illinois power exchange will enable wholesale and retail market participants to trade electricity anonymously through a computerized system.
Initial products will likely include hourly, daily and weekly electricity delivered to and from interconnection points on the ComEd transmission system.
