CellNet Data Systems purchased Stark RT, a multi-vendor communications system, from UK-based Stark Software International Ltd. CellNet required RT dial-up peripheral sites and to migrate easily from telephone dial-up to radio communications as network deployment is implemented. The Stark system offered the speed and reliability of data collection necessary for CellNet to offer telephone-based hourly reporting of high-resolution five-minute interval data.
