SageWave integrates GIS into EIP - POWERGRID International/Electric Light & Power

SageWave integrates GIS into EIP

SageMaker Inc. of Fairfield, Conn., reached an agreement with Geodynamic Solutions Inc. in mid-August to integrate the functionality of Geodynamic`s geographic information systems (GIS) technology into the SageWave enterprise information portal (EIP).

Imbedded into SageWave EIP, Geodynamic`s Spatial Search Engine aggregates data geographically and presents it in a familiar map view. SageWave users will be able to penetrate surface maps and "dynamically cross-reference `hotspots` with newswires, publications, internal documents, statistical databases and other related sources of information," according to SageMaker.

Geodynamic`s Spatial Search Engine acts as a gateway to enterprise data, organizing and presenting fragmented content in a geographic fashion. The product, to be released in the fall of 1999, is a web-based technology being developed with Java.

The SageWave EIP is a browser-based environment that carries content from established information providers and publications and combines it with the client`s internal content-databases, research, email and unstructured documents.
