GPU Inc. promoted two executives in a realignment of executive management of its international businesses. Michael Hughes, CEO of GPU`s subsidiary, Midlands Electricity plc, became executive vice president-international operations of GPU Service Inc., and Ronald P. Lantzy became president of GPU International (GPUI). Hughes will have responsibilities for all of GPU`s international utility operations (currently in the United Kingdom, Australia and Argentina) and the company`s independent power projects worldwide. Lantzy will report to Hughes. Previously Lantzy was senior vice president and COO of GPUI. Lantzy replaces Robert L. Wise, who has been named president of GPU Energy on an interim basis.
