Boiler Tube Panel Saw Square Cuts Hard Pipe On-site

A versatile air-powered panel saw that produces perfectly square cuts on stainless steel, super duplex, inconel, concrete lined pipe and other hard materials is available from ESCO Tool.

The Esco APS-438 Air-Powered Saw features a standard fiberglass reinforced blade or optional carbide-tipped steel blade and produces a 4-3/8 inch deep cut. Providing ±1/16 inch accuracy and no HAZ, this saw easily attaches to boiler panels using two weld tabs or a quick-clamp for trimming new panels, and is offered with a rigid chain-mount clamp system to permit single pipe work.

Faster and cleaner than a reciprocating hack saw for pipe chop-off applications, the Esco APS-438 Air-Powered Saw is very useful for fabrication shop and fit-up work at job sites. Powered by a 3 hp motor, it requires only 80 cfm at 90 psi, and weighs only 28 lbs. Accommodating 10-inch or 12-inch blades, the saw includes a standard grease fitting, safety throttle and relief valve.

Insulated Work Platform Increases Utilization of Cranes and Digger Derricks

Responding to requests for work platforms capable of providing electrical insulation at voltages up to 765 kV, Diversified Products introduces the IWP-765kV Insulated Work Platform. Designed to enhance worker productivity and increase job functions performed with hydraulic telescoping cranes and digger derricks, the platform permits bare-hand work and de-energized line construction, and reduces lineman fatigue by eliminating the need to climb towers.

Featuring a tried-and-proven design, the IWP-765kV provides electrical insulation to personnel working on live transmission lines and equipment at voltages up to 765 kV. The insulated jib consists of a main structural fiberglass member, which is filament wound with computer-controlled, continuous-roving epoxy/anhydride resin. It's also sealed with bulkhead covers to minimize maintenance and protect from contaminants that may reduce insulation properties. A desiccant canister detects any moisture within the sealed jib and is visible from the ground when the jib is in a stowed or un-stowed position. Furthermore, a high-performance, sharp-edge corona ring reduces current leakage and is rated up to 765 kV.

The IWP-765kV features a radio control system that provides flexible, yet precise operation. The control system incorporates fully proportional controls—allowing simultaneous operation of the telescope, boom and rotation functions and enable the operator to better position the platform to suit virtually any job.

Single-stage Service Vehicle Compressors

Jenny Products Inc., a manufacturer of portable and stationary compressors, offers its line of single-stage service vehicle compressors. The line features four models with 30-gallon air tanks standard (other air tank sizes and configurations are available) that have all been specifically designed, tested and proven to meet the demands of a multitude of users and applications including hydraulic service shops, equipment implement dealers, seal coating facilities and construction professionals.

All models in the line are built with a heavy-duty, two-stage cast-iron compressor pump for long-lasting performance. These belt-driven compressors have a large flywheel for easy start-ups and extra cooling, and a directional air shroud helps further reduce pump temperatures. Special unloading valves on the compressors also assist in engine starting.

The most popular unit within the series is the GC11HGA-30T. Featuring a "GC-style" pump, this model is powered by an 11-hp Honda GX series OHV gasoline engine with a standard electric start and produces up to 18.3 cfm at 125 psi or 17.3 cfm at 150 psi for quick recovery.

Data Loggers are Compact and Low-cost

The DAWN Mini Logger family contains compact, low-cost data loggers to acquire OBD and CAN bus data from cars and trucks. GPS and a cellular modem are options. An analog model acquires a variety of inputs if you add your own sensors. Units work alone or together using USB, Wi-Fi, cellular or Bluetooth.

The J1939 Mini Logger is so compact that the logger fits within the J1939 connector. The OBD Mini Logger connects directly to the standard J1962 OBD connector and is especially useful for cars and light trucks. By fitting directly onto the vehicle's connector, installation is done in seconds.

HEM Data introduced the 8-channel ADAQ Mini Logger that acquires analog data. It includes signal conditioning that handles voltages, currents, counter/timers and temperatures—all within the compact logger. It also has signal conditioning to handle high voltages and currents for electrical and plug-in hybrid electrical vehicles (PHEV) for both ac and dc power.

The GPS unit is connected to the OBD, J1939 or ADAQ Mini Logger via a serial port. GPS data is stored on the companion Mini Logger's 2 GB Micro SD card. The GPS unit will work alone for those applications that only require GPS data. The unit has one analog input to measure a signal, such as when certain truck equipment is on/off—it also has a temperature sensor. In addition, the unit can be located inside or outside of the vehicle and is waterproof. Real-time geofencing is an option.

Certified CAT5e Cable Features Certified High Speed PTZ Camera

Industrial Video & Control Co. (IVC) and Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corp. (RSCC) have introduced a new networked video solution designed for use in hazardous areas. RSCC's Gardex CAT5e is designed for Ethernet communication and Class I, Div. 1 applications in industrial applications. The cable is designed for use in extreme temperatures and is UL-listed instrumentation tray cable ITC-HL, 300V. Its continuously-welded aluminum armoring reduces installation costs by negating the need for conduit. IVC and RSCC have successfully tested this new cable with IVC cameras to a distance of 600 feet. The Gardex CAT5e cable is connected to an IVC certified camera.
