GE helps bring smart grid technologies to Korea


Atlanta, September 22, 2009 — GE agreed to help bring the smart grid technology to Korea. GE will work together with Korea’s NURI Telecom Ltd. to build an advanced smart grid infrastructure in Korea.

Korea is embarking on several smart grid initiatives, including the development of a smart grid road map and a smart grid pilot project on Jeju Island.

GE will modernize electrical systems from power plants to consumers — from smarter appliances to technologies for plug-in hybrid vehicles, to providing renewable technologies and smart meters.

NURI is an AMI system company, which offers IT integrated management solutions, ZigBee application, auto identification (barcode/RFID), digital trunked radio system, USN line service with skilled personnel and technical knowledge.
