Sunnyvale, Calif., January 6, 2012 — POWRtec International Corp. signed a contract with Danish utility, Dong Energy, securing the delivery of 50,000 of its Smart Read Meters.
POWRtec has previously delivered 160,000 meters to Dong Energy, and will now reach a total of 210,000 meters when deployed within the next 12 months. POWRtec's Smart Read meters allow for efficient and comprehensive analysis of energy usage. This benefits the utility provider, the end-user and ultimately the environment.
Dong Energy, headquartered in Denmark, is in the business of procuring, producing, distributing and trading in energy and related products in Northern Europe.
POWRtec is a smart meter manufacturer. POWRtec's meters are network-enabled and can be built to use virtually any communications protocol.
