Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy buys 77 MW gas fired power plant in Texas


Stamford, Conn., January 18, 2012 — Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy announced that it has acquired, through one of its subsidiaries, a natural gas-fired peaking facility located in Wichita County, Texas from Signal Hill Power LLC.

Wichita Falls is a 77 MW facility using GE gas combustion turbines with associated heat recovery steam generators and an ABB steam generator. The facility supplies power into the ERCOT West market during periods of peak demand and/or supply volatility, and is strategically located in Wichita County, Texas near the fast-growing Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.
