MidAmerican Wind completes 81 MW Bishop Hill II Wind Project

MidAmerican Wind, a unit of MidAmerican Renewables, completed its 81 MW Bishop Hill II wind project. The project, located in Henry County, Ill., features 50 GE 1.62 MW wind turbines.

Bishop Hill II is located near the town of Galva, Ill., about 40 miles northwest of Peoria. The project has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Ameren Illinois.

The project is part of MidAmerican Wind's portfolio, which includes the 168 MW Pinyon Pines Wind I and the 132 MW Pinyon Pines Wind II projects, formerly known as Alta Wind VII and Alta Wind IX, which are located near Tehachapi, Calif.
