Matinee Energy breaks ground on solar power plants in Benson, Arizona

Benson, Ariz., December 30, 2011 — Matinee Energy broke ground on a solar energy project in Benson, Arizona. The site is designed to convert abundant sun energy into 120 MW of electricity.

Partners in the project include GreenStone Systems and WEIS GmbH Consortium. The groundbreaking came after progress with permitting, sales agreements, interconnection, land acquisition, project financing and securing substantial solar modules.

Matinee Energy derives much of its strength from existing major construction partners. WEIS brought together powerful partners for necessary elements of construction, solar components and financing, from Germany.
